North Walsham Junior School attended the Regional ECB/ASDA Schools Kwik Cricket Finals and finished runners-up. This means that they qualify for the National Kwik Cricket Finals to be held at Derbyshire County Cricket Ground on Wednesday 20th July.
At the Regional Finals they qualified for the final by winning their semi-final against a school from Hertfordshire, 211 runs scored against 204 runs. In the final they lost to a school team from Essex who scored 251 runs against North Walsham Junior's 197 runs. Kathy Warren, PE teacher, North Walsham Junior and Dean Futter, SSP Sports Coach, were very nervous during the semi-final but their tactics paid off!
Together the North Norfolk School Sport Partnership and Norfolk County Crikcet Board will provide some funding to cover transport costs for the school to travel to Derbyshire.
What an excellent way to finish the year, a school from Norfolk and indeed the North Norfolk SSP makes a National Final.
Good luck to North Walsham Junior School
