Welcome to the updated North Norfolk School Sport Partnership website. Here you will find up to date information about our work within the partnership and with the arrival of the new School Games initiative there seems to be a real sense of excitement towards competitive school sport in the area.
The School Games, however, aims to be much more than just competitive school sport - the aspiration is to support all young people to achieve their personal best in sport and in life. With London hosting the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, now is the time to harness the unique power and energy of the world's greatest sporting event to motivate all young people.
The School Games is a celebration of competitive sport that will involve all young people in years 3 to 13, of all abilities and backgrounds. The School Games is made up of four levels of competition:
Level 1: Intra-school competition, culminating in a School Games day
Level 2: Regular inter-school competition between schools at a local level
Level 3: Annual county/area culmination of inter-school competitions – School Games Festivals
Level 4: National multi-sport event
National Governing Bodies of Sport (NGBs) have also been asked to create innovative new formats which lend themselves to intra and inter school competition, and encourage participation by all young people, including those with disabilities.
